Our two summer topics are "Invaders and Settlers" and" Volcanoes and Earthquakes".
The volcanoes and earthquakes tpoic is due to start after the May holiday.
The children have an optional homework project to take part in which will be due in after the May holiday.
It is a project based around the legend of King Authur and the Knights of the Round Table. Homework sheets and project books can still be collected from class if you would like to support your child with this.
During our Invaders and Settlers topic we went on our class residential trip to Castleton, in the Hope Valley, in Derbyshire.
Our topic was Ancient Egypt, we found out about pyramids, lifestyles, Gods, food and mummification. We read a novel called "Setna's Journey" by R. Brown, and then wrote about our own journeys through life set in Ancient Egypt. We were lucky enough to have a dance teacher work with us every week for the term to create a dance based upon Ancient Egypt.
